MA farm Laborer John B age 16 b, MA farm laborer The death record of Thomas Welsh - died in Rutland on 26 Feb. 1897. His parents were William Welsh and Elizabeth Cahill. He was age 74 ys 10 ms and 2 ds. Possibly Marble cutter in 1860 Worcester Ward 4 Census p. 11- Welch Thos. age 38, Ann, age 38, Thos age 7 possibly born Jan. 28, 1853, Mary A age 5, Elizabeth age 3, Wm age 1 Elizabeth possibly b. March 31, 1857 in Worc. A Rutland marriage record for Mary Ann Welsh and James O'Leary dated April 11, 1880 names parents as Thomas Welsh and Ann Quigley. A death record for Ann Quigley Welch shows that she died in Rutland March 12, 1904. Parents were Thomas Quigley and Eliza Gleason and informant was son John. Burial was in St. John's Worcester. 1900 census shows John b. Aug 1862 with wife Margaret 5 children and mother Ann Widow born Ireland Aug 1824. Ann had 8 children 3 living. James and Mary O'Leary and 7 children are in North Brookfield. in 1900. History of North Brookfield has a little information about the Quigley family. Ann's brother "John was the first of his name and family in town in 1844 when there were but seven Irishmen here ..." It doesn't say when Ann came, only that she married Thomas Welch and resided in Rutland.
