      The value of the estate was insufficient to pay debts and his widow Bridget was granted permission by the Probate Court to sell enough real estate as was necessary to pay those debts.

      In the name of God Amen I Edmond
      Oday of West Brookfield in the County
      of Worcester and Commonwealth of Mass
      yeoman, Being of sound and disposing mind
      and memory do make this my last will
      and testament I commit my soul to
      God the auther of it as to my worldly
      estate I hereby dispose of the same in
      the following manner
      first I give and bequeath to my son Michael
      the sum of one dollar
      2d I give and bequeath to my son Edmond
      Oday Jr the sum of one dollar
      3d I give and bequeath to my son Patrick
      the sum of one dollar
      4th I give and bequeath to my son Dennis
      the sum of one dollar.
      5th I give and bequeath to my daughter Catherine Flinn wife of Richard Flinn
      the sum of one dollar
      6th I give to my beloved wife Bridget
      Oday the use of all my real estate
      during her life, also all my personal
      property to use and dispose of as she
      may think properly after paying all my
      honest debts
      7th I give and bequeath to my daughter
      Bridget Oday all my real estate after
      the decease of my wife
      Finally, I hereby appoint my wife Bridget
      Oday to be the executrix of this my last
      will and testament hereby revoking all
      other and former wills by me made
      and declaring this and this only to be my last will and testament
      In witness whereof I hereunto set
      my hand and seal this ninth day of
      September in the year of our Lord
      one thousand eight hundred and
      fifty seven
