- At the time Louis and Louise were married, Louis was suffering from Diptheria and it was thought that he was on his death bed. Louis recovered and lived another 24 yrs.

- Rev. Louis F. Giroux was dean of International College at Springfield, MA. He had an extensice collection of Oriental object of art which were put up for sale after his death.
He had a heart attack in May 1918.

Louis Frederick Giroux, Rev., died at age 56y 5m 28 d,, 17 Aug. 1918 in Springfield, of a cerebral hemorrhage. He was husband of Louise B. Sampson. Born Feb. 20, 1852 [sic], in Watkins, NY, his parents were Henri Achille Giroux, born France, and Helen Theresa Sullivan, born Watkins, NY. Louis was the Dean of American International College. Cremation was 20 Aug. 1918 in Springfield,MA.
[Birth year of 1862 as noted in 1900 census would be in line with age at death.]
