    • Prepared for college at Hopkins Acdemy in Hadley. Attended Andover Theological Seminary 1839-1840. Studied theology with Rev. George Trask of Warren from 1840-42. Ordained in Gardner, MA 2/23/1842 and was pastor there until 1850. By 1851 he had returned to the family farm in West Brookfield, where he lived until his death. Representative to MA legislature in 1873.

      William B. Stone, Married, age 79 y 11d, died Feb. 4, 1890 of exhaustion from carcinoma of the stomach. He was a farmer, born North Brookfield, MA, son of Francis Stone, born North Brookfield, and Hannah Matthews, born New Braintree.

      Bowman Stone died at his home at West Brookfield yesterday monring. Once occupied a pulpit, He was prominent in matters of education, and served on the school committee. He was also active in the temperance movement.
